#1003 closed System Defect (deferred)

Display Settings wizard

Reported by: gef_f Owned by: kris
Priority: major Milestone:
Component: System Tool Version: 10.0-RELEASE
Keywords: Cc: trac-bugs@…

When the display settings wizard is set to be run on the next reboot from the PC-BSD Control Panel. The auto-detection of the Intel and the maximum possible resolution works correctly. However, if selecting no, the Display Settings dialog is offering Ati with 3D. Moreover, any attempt to set correct values; Intel driver and resolution, will fail in black screen.

Clarification to the above ticket:
If selecting no to the offered Intel + resolution combination and entering to the Display Settings dialog from there.

Couple of things. First, can you run this and get me output:

Second, after it fails to apply the new res, take a look at /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old

I'll need the contents of that file to see the specific error message that X is throwing.
