That's site/mirrors :)

This appears to be a combined release engineering and web site problem:

The PC-BSD web site offers 10.0-RELEASE with a download link that provides PCBSD10.0-RELEASE-x64-DVD-USB-latest.iso which is in fact 10.0.1 and does not suggest a 10.0.1 milestone.

Furthermore, the "RELEASE" directory at http://iso.cdn.pcbsd.org/10.0-RELEASE/amd64/ also does not offer the 10.0.1 milestone but the files do:

This simultaneously suggests a 10.0.1 milestone and a 03-13-2014 post-10.0.1 milestone snapshot.

Either way... this is confusing when the user goes to update their 10.0-RELEASE with a 10.0.1-RELASE named 10.0-RELEASE.

itaylor57 on #pcbsd suggests that it has "always been this way" and I will argue that the confusion has always been there.

Rational: PC-BSD is FANTASTIC for demonstrating bhyve features at the command line and a graphical presentation. As a new feature though, versioning is critical to bhyve. This should apply to other FreeBSD components. Any potential confusion is just that.
