#1194 closed Feature Request (fixed)

Per-Jail NICs in warden CLI

Reported by: rpoyner@… Owned by:

Description

Warden currently puts all jails on the same network interface as configured in /usr/local/etc/warden.conf.

I propose a change where the NIC configured in warden.conf can be overridden by one configured in .<jailname>-meta.

Before I submit a pull request I'd thought I'd see if there is reason to NOT do this.

I see that something like this already exists in backend/startjail.sh based on the contents of .<jailname>.meta/iface.

It doesn't seem to be documented through warden help though. Is it worth me adding warden set/get/help functionality for this, or is iface deprecated?

Yea, that is supported, not sure why it never got added to the get / set help sections though. I've added it now. Thanks for the heads up :)
