Description
After upgrading from 8-BETA to 8-RC2 (64bit) on my notebook I was stuck in the graphics setup program. I guess due to the update of xorg-server the screen was completely mangled and I could not regonize anything. With 8-BETA I didn't have any problems with it.
The graphics chip is
agp0: <Intel GM45 SVGA controller> on vgapci0
The big problem was that I tried to kill the Xserver and configure it manually, but after killing the Server it just respawned, which also caused my working /etc/X11/xorg.conf was overwritten.
After a lot of fiddeling I deleted /PCBSD/xorg-gui/.xsession-failed (or the like) and was presented a working X with the graphics setup program.
I propose that theres an easier way to achieve this. :)
Maybe pressing Esc exits the program?
BTW: Switching virtual desktops in Fluxbox with Alt+Function Key should be disabled for the graphics setup.

No, choosing VESA didn't change the behaviour. :(

The intel driver has been updated again for 8.1, and should have this issue fixed. Also, we set virtual desktops -> 1 for fluxbox as well now, thanks :)

Please take a look at Issue 315. I totally forgot about this ticket (259), so I opened a new one. Same issue.

Sigh, every update of xorg causes issues it seems now :P
I've added that idea though to the wiki for 8.1, maybe add an option to skip the display setup wizard and provide your own config? BTW, could you run in vesa mode properly?
