Is da0 a USB device or scsi?

Can you give it a shot with the 8.1 beta?

Yea, this looks like its failing because the "da0" device is being detected *after* trying to mount the root has already failed. You can try entering "ufs:da0s1a" or "ufs:da0p2" at the mountroot prompt, does that make it boot up the rest of the way?

I think this is a known issue with FBSD 8.x though at the moment, the USB init doesn't take place soon enough in the boot process.

I'm not getting mountroot prompt. How I can get there?

Sure you are, it was getting covered up by the other USB messages afterwards. Hit "?" and enter, and it'll give you some usage instructions, and then another mountroot> prompt.
