Selecting encryption causes timezones to disappear

Description

Installing PCBSD 8.1 from x64 DVD.

I've seen this a couple of times in different installation attempts/experiments recently. If I select a custom partition configuration and set a partition to have encryption, the next screen (Timezone selection) offers an empty drop-down list of timezones, and I cannot select any timezone. If I do an installation without any encrypted partitions, the drop-down list of timezones seems to have all timezones available.

(In each case I was attempting to encrypt the partition to sit underneath a ZFS pool.)

Does not appear to be an issue with the upcoming PC-BSD 9.1 (did not test the current 9.0 installer)
