Removing virtual desktops changes the desktop altogether.

Description
When I remove at least one of the virtual desktops, the desktop background and all of the icons disappears off of the screen leaving only a plain blue background.

This may have been fixed in a later version of KDE. Is this still an issue in 9.0?
