This should be updated, since it still applies to 9.0 Release.
Additionally: After the download is complete and when waiting for reboot to apply a system update, that update should no longer be offered in the update manager, or be listed as "pending".

We have added an option to the software to allow you to disable update notifications in update manager in the next snapshot. They will be left on by default.

I dont agree with the original bug report, that the tray icon just should dissappear while updating is happening. I like it keeping it's current status, until the updates are 100% done.
We did fix the issue where the tray now refreshes after doing an update, so it correctly indicates that no more updates are available.
The tray icon also does show pending system "upgrades" now, if the system is waiting to be rebooted for it to continue. I will be adding this same functionality into the updater GUI as well though.

Perhaps the icon should indicate "installing" instead of remaining idle. I haven't been through an update since the behavior changed, so I'll have to confirm that it makes sense when I next see an upgrade available.

All the changes we are going to make currently to the updater have been added.

The other issue is that the icon doesn't automatically change after an update is performed, even if there aren't any system updates available.
