mouse pointer and system stops and only starts when key is pressed (shift)

| Keywords: | KDE mouse keyboard input system stops hangs pauses | Cc: | trac-bugs@… |
Description
Mouse pointer stops after a time, and the system also stops. CD drive pauses reading even if there is a component installing. I have to press a button, for example shift, to start it again. After that, all mouse movements are done, that were made before. But mouse movement is chipped (mouse image is correct).
Keyboard input is also stopped, when i am at the console CTRL+SHIFT+F3. I have to go back to the KDE screen with CTRL+SHIFT+F9.
System start to work again without problems. But after an idle time (5-10 minutes), it starts all over again.
Sometimes it freezes forever...
Fresh install. I installed it twice, and did the same.
Maybe it is an NVIDIA driver problem. (?)
(a have another machine on which the 64 bit version works without errors)

There are no USB keyboards plugged in. Keyboard and mouse are PS/2.
USB keyboard and mouse support are set to OS in the BIOS.
It seems that every IO is stopped including network transfer.
Sempron processor, working on it is standard speed.
I also tried vesa driver since, but it produces the same. Maybe it is not graphics card related problem.

The problem still persists at the version 06222012, that has no full disk encryption by default install.
If I log in as super user, and let it alone (i.e. I start a download that takes for hours), the display will go to sleep. If I move the mouse or push a button, it does not wake up. "No video input" is running on the screen.
FX 5700 LE is in the computer, now I try to test it with different cards. (before I had no time to do any other test)

I changed video card from Nvidia FX 5700 LE to a standard Nvidia FX 5200.
There is no problem with the Nvidia FX 5200.
Probably it was an Nvidia driver problem. Nvidia FX 5700 LE is very rare.
Ticket can be closed.
