650,PC-BSD 9.0 (x86) installer doesn't propose to install the freebsd boot manager where we want,Boug, kris,"While installing PC-BSD 9.0 x86, I've noticed that it's installer didn't propose me to install the freebsd boot manager where I wanted it to be installed (on the MBR of the second hard disk to be precise).
My PC-BSD 9.0 is installed on ""/dev/ad5s2a"", which is for Fedora's GRUB2 the first partition on the freebsd slice which is in fact the second partition of the second hard drive on my PC.

So, as PCBSD's boot manager was installed on the first sector of the freebsd slice (2nd partition of the 2nd drive) and NOT on the MBR of this 2nd drive as I wanted, I had to configure Fedora's GRUB2 in order to be able to boot on PC-BSD...

The true problem : imagine someone who doesn't have a Linux distro already installed : how can he boot PC-BSD if it's not on the first partition of the drive? He can't!

I think that the installer of precedent versions of PC-BSD proposed to install the boot manager on the MBR (maybe I confuse with some Linux distros), but that would be very usefull if it did so.",System Defect,closed,blocker,,Installer,9.0-RELEASE,fixed,MBR boot manager partition,trac-bugs@…
