#711 closed System Defect (fixed)

meta-pkg set emptied by some config script; system-mgr shows no installed pkgs

Description

but /usr/local/share/pcbsd/metaset has two subdirs, pcbd and trueos.
Both contain the relevant subdirs for the pkgs, and these in turn contain the file pkg-desc, pkg-icon.png, etc.

There's no subdir for warden (in the DBDIR), thus in warden the meta-pkg list for additions to a jail is empty. This is logical. But why does the system-mgr not shows the pkgs installed?

I consider this of priority: critcal, because one must have the impression that e.g. automatic security updates will not be applied: no pkgs, no updates needed.

This is only one example of bugs to prove my proposal on the pcbsd-dev mailing list.

With the move to using pkgNG for packages, this issue is completely obsolete.
Packages can now be installed/removed/updated in Warden-managed jails from the UI if that jail supports pkgNG.
