#774 closed System Defect (invalid)

Config windows do not be opened when it requires system permissions

Reported by: noy Owned by: kris
Priority: minor Milestone: 9.2
Component: System Configuration Version: 9.2-RELEASE
Keywords: configure system permission Cc: trac-bugs@…

Login with common user account.
On PC-BSD control panel, some configure options, eg, system manager, require system permissions. When the root password was entered, the configure window does not be opened. Nothing happened.
I can login with root, and config the system. however I thought that is a minor bug.

I saw this happen where the first time you enter the password the window closes is that what you mean? After the first time the control panel programs did work for me. Does that sound right for you as well?

Ok, I misread the report. Since this is using sudo, you enter your "user" password, not "root" to open these control panel items. The dialog should say this also.
