Component: System Configuration Version: 10-CURRENT

Description

I've video problem with installer in 10.0-p3 which seems similar to the ones in 9.2 beta and RC releases.

I'm including snapshot (bad quality)...the installer launches, but mouse pointer is frozen and after touching my touchpad X crashes and I get bunch of:

vm_fault: pager read error, pid 1 (init)

lines in console.

Can you provide any other details? What kind of video card? Also this error "vm_fault: pager read error" very often means some sort of hardware issue, have you tested system memory / video memory?

It's Lenovo Edge E125 netbook with ATI X200M (RS480M) card which works nicely with PC-BSD-9.2

Also this error "vm_fault: pager read error" very often means some sort of hardware issue, have you tested system memory / video memory?

I'll test and report back.

Just to report that I did test the whole memory and no errors occurred.

  • Resolution set to 3rdpartybug
  • Status changed from new to closed

Ok, that is helpful. The 10 ISOs have the new ATI/AMD KMS drivers, which mean they are using different drivers for display. You may need to report this bug to the Xorg driver guys @ the FreeBSD project. Take a look at the bottom of the wiki page here:
