#823 closed System Defect (invalid)

HD mounted in FSTAB causes kernel warning (not properly dismounted) on boot up

I added a hard drive to FSTAB so that it boots automatically. However when the system boots up, I get this:

kernel: WARNING: /mnt/Backup was not properly dismounted

That directory comes from this entry in FSTAB:

/dev/ada2s1 /mnt/Backup ufs rw 0 0

The drive works just fine (Western Digital WD7501AALS, 750GB) however.

The main HD is a 250 GB Samsung EV840 SSD with ZVS.

The entry looks right. It is possible that it wasn't unmounted once. Did you have a crash / panic that caused it to shutdown uncleanly? You may need to run fsck on the device, since its not ZFS and all ;)
