Can't detect current DE using system environment

When I improve de profiles for de-info script I can't find system environment variables specific for some of them.

I check presence of $CINNAMON_VERSION for detection cinnamon
I can use $GNOME_KEYRING_CONTROL or $GNOME_SESSION_ID (marked as deprcated). Both of that vars looks not perfect for detection
An finally I can't find variable specific to Mate :(

The good solution may be adding by PCDM some variable with desktop name. Anyway de profiles scripts are checks $DESKTOP_SESSION.

  • Resolution set to fixed
  • Status changed from new to closed

NOTE: You will want to have it check the "PCDM_SESSION" environment variable now. It will be set to the (all uppercase) non-localized name of the desktop environment (as set in the /usr/local/share/xsessions/*.desktop file that was selected). For example: KDE, XFCE, LXDE, GNOME, CINNAMON, MATE, etc...
