#257 closed System Defect (fixed)

could not do upgrade from 7.1.1 to 8.0-RC2

I don't know what went wrong but when I chose to upgrade from 7.1.1 to 8.0-RC2 after reboot the error I got was could not mount root. I did not know what to do, so I did a fresh install and then it installed and detected ok. I tried both from live DVD and directly choosing the default which is to start the installer from the beginning at boot up.

Humm, without more details from poking around the file-system, it would be hard to debug this issue. Can you give me the file-system layout you had prior to the upgrade BTW?

Lots of upgrade issues have been fixed for 8.1, please reopen with file-system details if you still have issues.
