Please check if you have some hanging kde4init processes.

Correct, the PBI may not be the issue here. If you run "top" check if you have any processes taking up all your CPU time. If so, thats the real issue to solve, you can run "kill -9" on them :)

  • Priority changed from minor to major

I had this issue again, today (64 bit RC2 with dualcore CPU, installing VirtualBox? PBI).
The system was nearly completely unresponsive, I was able to run top but couldn't c&p the output, so I took a picture (which is pretty bad, I have to admit...).
There are some kdeinit4 processes which take up to ~45% CPU.

As this is not the only PBI and only computer I see this on, I changed the Priority to "major".

  • Version changed from 8.0-RC2 to 8.0

Is there any progress on this?
The kdeinit4 processes are freaking when I open dolphin, even with the korganizer module disabled.

Yeah, thanks. I couldn't install the updates yet because the PCBSD Updater can't cope with proxy authentication.
Using a direct connection with UMTS, I installed all patches and now the kdeinit4 processes are behaving nicely.
